A founding member and the first elected president of ANCCIF – Asociación Norte, Centroamericana y del Caribe de Investigadores de Fútbol (Association of North, Central America and the Caribbean of Football Investigators), Steven is a highly respected sports public relations and media operations consultant with more than 30 years of experience in the global game.

A soccer historian specializing in North, Central America, and the Caribbean since the turn of the century, he possesses extensive knowledge of regional competitions involving national teams, clubs, futsal, and beach soccer.

Steven brings over two decades of national and international experience in sports communications and media relations, having worked with numerous soccer organizations across multiple levels of the sport.

A native of New York City, he worked at major global sporting events prior to joining U.S. Soccer, including the 1994 FIFA Men’s World Cup, 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 1998 Goodwill Games. From 1999 to 2003, he served with U.S. Soccer in Chicago.

He later joined CONCACAF, where he spent the following decade primarily as the Confederation’s sole press officer. During this time, he established a record for the most consecutive days served (3,675) as a member of the communications department within the organization’s first 60 years.

In addition, Steven has served extensively as a FIFA Media Officer, working at numerous international tournaments and events, including the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.

During the modern era of the North American Soccer League (NASL), he once again oversaw Hispanic and international media relations and played a key role in organizing the historic visit of the New York Cosmos to Cuba in 2015, marking the first time a U.S. professional sports club visited the island since 1999 (first NASL side since 1978).
