Leire works as a freelance translator professionally, but football has been one of her passions since she watched the 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan at ten years old - the first international tournament she can remember!

Leire was captivated by the game and everything surrounding it, and became hooked forever. Leire is interested in reading and writing about the history and culture of football, with a particular focus on lesser-known stories and clubs from Spain, and those related to the footballing traditions of Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet bloc.

Leire is a fervent supporter of Deportivo Alavés.
